Running Jupyer Portable with R Portable

WinPython is a wonderful python distribution, I personally love it as it requires no installation and just runs out of the box. Writing about the goodness of WinPython is an another blog post in itself! Check it out from the creator itself, here . Today we'll see how to make Jupyter (installed via WinPython), work with R. Installation of WinPython is just a download and double click the setup(no installation!!). It gives us a full fledged Jupyter Notebook with python support. For linking it with R, We first need to have R installed. So, download a portable version or R and run the setup. Now once you have R, add the WinPython distro to the system environment variables and check if running ' python ' or ' jupyter ' in a fresh terminal recognizes it. Next just follow the instructions here . And you will have Jupyter recognizing R and letting you create R Jupyter Notebooks.! The best part here was that, no installation was needed of any software!
